Tyrell Ajian officially announced Tuesday afternoon via social media that he would be entering the NFL Draft after 6 seasons in Lexington.

Ajian redshirted his freshman year and took advantage of the NCAA 2020 Covid-19 waiver rule granting extra eligibility.

Ajian had a strong season in 2022. He totaled 31 tackles, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles and 3 pass deflections for the Wildcats, adding to his career total of 152 tackles, 12 pass deflections, 3 forced fumbles, 1 sack and 4 interceptions. He also scored a touchdown with the Wildcats in 2021, his 5th-year senior season.

Kentucky football had a relatively underwhelming season this year. The Wildcats were projected to battle with Georgia and Tennessee for the SEC East, but instead finished 7-6 with a 21-0 Music City Bowl loss to Iowa. Notably, that was without quarterback Will Levis and star RB Chris Rodriquez in the offense.
