Zavion Thomas, Mississippi State WR, reportedly updates plans for 2023 season
Zavion Thomas, a Mississippi State wide receiver who entered the transfer portal about a month ago, has reportedly updated plans for the 2023 season.
Thomas, a former 4-star recruit in 2022 and the Bulldogs’ primary punt returner this past season, has withdrawn from the transfer portal, Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported.
Thomas made 11 appearances for the Bulldogs in 2022, and has 3 seasons of eligibility remaining.
As a receiver, Thomas’ contributions were limited to 2 catches for 4 yards in the ETSU game. Thomas shined as a punt returner. He had 15 punt returns for 202 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown against Georgia. He also had 4 kick returns for 95 yards.
Late last month, Thomas tweeted “unfinished business” amid rumors that he would return to the Bulldogs. This news also came a day after State hired Chad Bumphis to be the new wide receivers coach.
Unfinished business ?

I figured we would lose more, nice to see some actually coming back.
I wonder if the Chad Bumphis hiring influenced his decision.
NICE!
With rara and Williams gone , I doubt there is situation better for him right now. He’s got pr locked up, should be able to see him on offense more now. He’s deceptively fast
Both he and tulu deserve more touches on the offensive side of the ball. With their speed, if they can make one man miss; you’re not catchin them. It takes two eyes to watch them run. One to see where they were and one to see where they’re goin. I don’t get paid to make those decisions & nobody called to ask my opinion
Twoloop isn’t just fast, he runs like a back. Should be interesting to see him this season
Interesting to see where he transfers to
