Hendon Hooker, Bryce Young's place in 2022 Heisman Trophy voting revealed
We know that either Georgia’s Stetson Bennett, TCU’s Max Duggan, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, or USC’s Caleb Williams will win the Heisman Trophy.
We now also know where Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker and Alabama’s Bryce Young ended up in the voting.
During ESPN’s Top Ten Heisman Trophy Finalists Show, the placement of players 5-10 in the award voting was revealed. Hooker, at No. 5, and Young, at No. 6, finished ahead of the other 4 names on the list.
At No. 7 was Michigan RB Blake Corum, while Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. came in at No. 8. Texas RB Bijan Robinson — who, along with Corum, made up the only non-QBs in the top 10 — and North Carolina’s Drake Maye were Nos. 9 and 10, respectively.
The scene now shifts to the Lincoln Center in Manhattan as the winner of the big award is announced this weekend. If Bennett wins, not only will he become the 4th straight SEC player to claim the Heisman, but he’ll be the 1st Georgia player to do so since Herschel Walker won in 1982 and the program’s 3rd winner overall.
The Heisman Trophy ceremony begins at 8 p.m. Saturday and will be televised on ESPN.
