JT Daniels throws costly pick-6 that helps Pittsburgh to beat West Virginia
JT Daniels is no longer at Georgia. He was the starting quarterback for West Virginia Thursday night in the rivalry game against Pittsburgh.
The Backyard Brawl, as it’s nicknamed, certainly lived up to the hype, as both teams traded blows throughout the game.
With the game tied at 31 with under 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Daniels dropped back to pass to wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton; however, the ball was tipped by Wheaton, who was wide open, and picked off by Pittsburgh’s MJ Devonshire, who ran it back for the go-ahead 38-31 touchdown.

Daniels finished the game 23-of-38 for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown. He played pretty well, but the pick-6 was just unfortunate with the deflection off of the receiver’s hands.
Pitt and West Virginia hadn’t played in 11 years leading into Thursday night. College football needs this game played more often.
