College Football Playoff rankings, Nov. 29: Penultimate top 25 of 2022 season released
The latest College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday night on ESPN following a week where the Big Ten had a stunner, and the Pac-12 found a likely favorite entering conference championship weekend.
Committee chair Boo Corrigan, the athletics director at NC State, discussed the latest changes to the rankings, the ninth of the CFP format with ESPN’s Rece Davis.
Michigan’s throttling of Ohio State in Columbus was arguably the biggest storyline coming out of the weekend. Another was Southern Cal knocking off Notre Dame behind a Heisman Trophy-like performance from QB Caleb Williams, who happened to strike the pose after one big play.
The main question this week centered on the No. 5 and No. 6 teams in case there is an upset this weekend.
The committee members have convened in person on Mondays and Tuesdays, and revealed their rankings each week on ESPN.
The final selection committee rankings of the 2022 season will be released on selection day, which is Sunday.
The CFP games will be played at the Peach Bowl, Fiesta Bowl and at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
