Billy Napier discusses a lopsided loss to Oregon State in Las Vegas Bowl
The first year of the Billy Napier era did not go well. Florida finished with a losing record, going out with a whimper on a 30-3 loss to Oregon State.
Napier addressed media following the lopsided loss, noting that the team simply was not as prepared as they should have been to take on the Beavers. He also added that Florida’s 11 penalties for 82 yards were a major factor.

Florida was able to avoid its first shutout since 1988 on Saturday with a last minute field goal. Napier was asked about that postgame as well, saying the opportunity to kick a field goal was taken to have a “chance of having success” in that situation.

Napier touched on Jack Miller’s impact on the game as well. Miller was filling in for starting QB Anthony Richardson, who declared for the NFL Draft prior to the bowl game.
Miller finished 13/22 for 180 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.
On Jack Miller:
“I think Jack showed some grit today if you think about what he was asked to do.”
Napier said Miller didn’t even take second-team reps for a while due to a thumb injury.
