Rachel, thanks for the memories . When I was a little girl growing up in Montreal Quebec my mother, a New Brunswicker with roots dating back to 1665, would take my sister and myself shopping in downtown Montreal. I could go on & on but the point was our stop for lunch at Simpsons caffateria where Mom would buy us a a piece of their famous salmon pie. We thought it was such a treat! Unlike other kids we knew, we were fortunate to have a mother who was a very good cook and made everything from scratch. We had a half acre garden and all the pickles, jams and veggies we would ever need.
