Georgia sees veteran tight end enter transfer portal, per report
Georgia spent Tuesday heading home after a blowout win over TCU in Monday’s College Football Playoff national championship game. Now, one of the Bulldogs’ reserve tight ends, a member of the program for 4 seasons, has opted to enter the transfer portal.
Brett Seither, who signed with the program out of the class of 2019, is now in the portal, per On3’s Matt Zenitz. A 3-star recruit out of high school, he did not record any statistics for the Dawgs in 2022. In 2021, he made a pair of catches against FCS Charleston Southern — including his 1st career touchdown — and a catch against Missouri.
As a true freshman in 2019, he played in a pair of games. That was followed by action in 3 games in 2020: Arkansas, Missouri, and Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl. Against the Razorbacks, he recorded a 12-yard catch.
Seither graduated with a degree in sports management in December. Having been a part of back-to-back national championship rosters, his time with the Bulldogs appears to have come to a close as he has 1 year of eligibility remaining as a grad transfer.
Best of luck to him. That TE room is getting stacked even heavier after this year’s haul, and with the #1 TE still to decide between UGA, Texas and USC in February. Totally understandable.
Sounds like a good call for him. Wish him luck.
appreciate him sticking through the entire season. hopefully he hasn’t lost out on his best opportunities elsewhere getting into the portal this late in the game.
