Will Reichard, Alabama kicker, updates plans for 2023 season
Will Reichard, Alabama’s kicker, a week ago announced that he would declare for the NFL Draft. But on Tuesday, he reversed course and shared his updated plans.
Reichard, who had accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl, explained his latest decision.
“After much prayer and guidance, I realized that I wasn’t ready to step away from Alabama football and the college experience,” he wrote on social media. “I have decided to take advantage of my final year of eligibility and tee it up with my Crimson Tide teammates once more time in 2023.”
Reichard is Alabama’s all-time career points leader, had a fifth season of eligibility available to him because of the pandemic waiver for the 2020 season.
Reichard made 61 of his 74 field goal attempts across his 4-year career in Tuscaloosa, and also connected on 234-236 of his extra point attempts across his career as well.

Good decision; he can only help his NFL chances doing this. Hopefully he can get a bit stronger and develop that 55+ range the pros expect. No question about his accuracy.
That’s comical.
Somebody got an NIL deal they couldn’t refuse.
Will already broke the Bama scoring record against LSU this season. He will enter “Legend” status at the Capstone and set a record that may never be broken again.
Barring injury, he is also set to crush the SEC record for most career points. Currently, Will sits at 426 points with 480 being the record.
How many former college kickers can you name?
Leigh Tiffin, Van Tiffin (people to this day still revere him), Adam Griffith (infamous Kick-6), Jeremy Shelley, Philip Doyle, Jamie “Money” Ch ristiensen (game winner against Texas Tech in Cotton Bowl) to name a few of Bama’s greats.
Will will become a legend and he has a really good chance of breaking the NCAA record for career points scored. Pretty amazing feat to accomplish.
That’s still comical. He missed the biggest kick of his life. PAT’s do not legends make. He needs a big make.
I don’t see how setting a career NCAA record is very comical. He also had a perfect season in 2020 going 98/98 on kicks. He’s been the most reliable kicker in a group of very unreliable ones during the Saban era. Biggest kick of his life? You mean the 50 yarder on the road in Knoxville? I don’t think many Bama fans blame him for that game.
Will has made several big kicks including the game winner against Texas. Sounds like one corn dog is upset about him coming back for another year.
Why would I care about your kicker? He didn’t beat us. Now if Young was coming back, that would be a whole different story. Kickers aren’t intimidating by any means.
Sweet!! He my favorite plater y’all got…..wide right
Not enough space in a comment to list all my favorite TN players during the 15 years of Bama domination but TN kicker Daniel Lincoln getting 2 FGs blocked is one of them along with all the TN coaches Saban got fired. Especially phat Phil.
