Mardner began his college career at Hawaii in 2018. He played in just 1 game, taking a redshirt that season.
Over the next 3 seasons (2019-21), Mardner played in 33 games for the Rainbow Warriors, recording 62 catches for 1,270 yards and 8 touchdowns. Mardner’s most productive season at season came in 2021 when he had 46 catches for 913 yards and 5 TDs. Marcus Davis was Mardner’s position coach at Hawaii that season. Davis is now the wide receivers coach on Hugh Freeze’s Auburn staff.
Mardner spent the 2022 season at Cincinnati. He had 19 catches for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns in 12 games.
Wow, nice pick up for Auburn. Told ya Freeze wouldn’t disappoint.
I’m sure some idiots will show up to put the guy down.
To me offensively, he’ll pull a Heupel and have it turned around quick. Would not be surprised if you all gave UGA all they can handle next year. He’s that good offensively.
Auburn’s got a way to go to “replenish’ the talent that’s been missed out on and lost.
Just got an All American RB to go with him a few minutes ago. Freeze has done exactly what he said he would do. Fill in the gaps and recruit for the future. No doubt in this Auburn man’s mind. Auburn might the right coaching decision. Thanks Hugh
Might be splitting hairs but he’s not an All-American RB. He’s an All-American kick returner, but of a difference but definitely a need since Hunter will take over the lead back role so we needed a home run pickup at returner and I’d say an All-American returner is a home run.
