As a Bucs fan, I am hoping he ends up in Tampa. Would be a two for! Go Bucs!
I don't like to use ad hominems often but Connor is an idiot. What would prompt that? Losing the verbal pledge from 5-star 2024 quarterback DJ Lagway and crumbling to a 4-8 season? CBN could go 4-8 next year (in fact he might). Losses vs LSU, UGA, UT, FSU and Utah are more likely than not. Losses vs UK, USC and Arky are coin tosses. Likely favored vs Mizzou, Vandy and the two cupcakes. He'll be back in 2024 regardless. UF is taking the long view on this hire imo. The AD realizes this is a strip down and rebuild. No more band aids. If anything, Stricklan goes before CBN.
That dude returns to mean like no other. But you got to give UGA credit...better than Creamedmypants.
All of these comments that he was great at Bama are just not accurate. The team was stacked and they won despite Hurts when they ran into top-notch competition which was pretty much limited to games vs UGA and Clemson as those were the only teams that could hang with Bama during that period. Hurts got benched by Saban for Tua for a reason. Cause he didn't know where to go with the ball often. And his scrambling was largely neutralized when they played top notch talent. For the folks who act like he was all world at Bama and a shoe-in for NFL All-pro have some serious memory issues.
Too funny...hope he has a great career at the HBCU. It's not like he called someone that word. He was rapping and repeating what the lyrics said. The whole thing was overblown honestly. But I suppose the fragile state of mind of today's athletes forced CBN's hand. Couldn't risk losing the locker room over perceived rac!sm. Agreed. This was huge after Waites injured his Achilles. Nice to take some depth from a division rival. However, I think this transfer portal stuff really stinks. Even though this instance benefited UF, the game feels like the NFL now.
Maybe Arky will be ranked ahead of UF when they sniff .500 in league play. When you factor in a relatively weak non-conference schedule, I don't have any issues with ranking Arky being so low. They are getting the benefit of the doubt in the polls due to recent NCAA tournament success but they are not playing well right now.
Didn't Connor write an article a couple weeks ago saying that the premature heat on Napier was unwarranted? Now he writes an article basically saying this: "Mertz isn't a good enough option for Florida so CBN's seat is getting hotter." They can't keep the narratives straight at SDS anymore.
Agree. If Bama has lost to KState, I doubt Hayes would have characterized as a "meaningless bowl game". The bottom line is that Hayes loves to kick people when they are down. He probably made fun of his kids if they didn't learn to ride bikes fast enough for his pleasure. Seems like an angry hateful person.
Who's the bigger child here...Saban for voting Bama #2 or Matt Hayes for writing this hit piece?
Stricklan will find a way to screw it up.
Try the AD...he's been in over his head from the moment he was hired.
Mr Truth...get used to more mediocrity before it gets better. You need to adjust your expectations. Or else you will continue to be disappointed. This will not be a quick fix.
Fact is Napier could go 4-8 next season and would be back in 2023. More BS from MH.
UF should have declined that bowl game. Nothing good could have come out of it, and that was known before UF had its best three players opt out (AR, Miller and Torrence). This was the most lopsided match-up in the bowl season (.500 team vs a top 15 team).
If you look at the records without any reference to schedule strength maybe. Bama has played and beat good teams. A lot of these other 9-1 records are garbage.
UConn beat Bama by 15 on a neutral court. News flash Adam...they are pretty good.
"A win would also make Florida bowl-eligible for the 2nd consecutive season". Actually 5th consecutive
Democracy...you were actually right in your first post when we you referenced a constitutional republic from your first post. And you talk about recency bias with a comment like that. Democracy is nothing more than 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner. We are supposed to defend the rights of even those in the minority. You think you were defending the country when in fact you were going to war at the whim of the political elite and war profiteers that have existed since long before Smedley Butler wrote a book alerting the American citizenry about it. This country is long gone and if you can't understand that based on what has happened over the past 36 months, you are under mind control.
Precisely. Plus our Oline and RB room. That's all we can hang our hat on. If you stop our run, UGA wins going away. If you can't, this game could be interesting.
I hear you and agree. Plus they had the senior QB in the system for several years. My guess is that Mullen doesn't regret it. He only regrets not getting the Jets job.
Got to love how Hayes is putting Napier on a shorter rope at the midpoint of year 1 than the entire SDS staff has Jimbo in year 5.
It has been a disappointment. Pool seems to be out of position or over pursuing a lot. Did not anticipate Arky having this many losses at this point of the season. Seems like the TAMU game established some bad momentum.
Why should you beat UF? Cause you caught them at the right time last year? Seriously, I don't see why or how USC counts that as automatic W.
Hate to dowse the flames but UK was without their starting QB. That kind of matters. I realize football is a game of momentum but just because you dropped a Levis-less UK team does not mean you get wins vs Mizzou, A&M and UF. Those will be very tough games match-up wise for USC.
