C.J. Stroud and the Ohio State Buckeyes experienced a crushing 45-23 loss to arch-rival Michigan last time out. Rivalry losses are difficult for fans to process, but some of the OSU faithful took things too far after The Game.

Stroud’s mother recently told Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated that her son received death threats after the Michigan game. Stroud does not seem to be concerned as he’s focused on OSU’s College Football Playoff clash with No. 1 Georgia.

“I don’t really look, but people have the audacity to call and talk to me and tell me what people say,” C.J. said Thursday. “It’s the nature of the beast. You accept the good with the bad. I thank God for a second chance at this game. We deserve to be here regardless of what happened that day.”

This season, Stroud is 235-of-355 passing for 3,340 yards, 37 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions, leading No. 4 OSU to an 11-1 record and Playoff berth.

Kickoff for Young and the Buckeyes against No. 1 Georgia is set for 8 p.m. ET, airing on ESPN.
