Bill O'Brien drawing plenty of criticism for Alabama's offensive struggles against Ole Miss
Bill O’Brien has drawn the ire of Alabama fans throughout the season. That didn’t change on Saturday as the Crimson Tide managed 14 points and just 119 yards of total offense in the 1st half at Ole Miss.
Alabama’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach is in his 2nd season on the sideline following his firing as head coach of the Houston Texans. Two years ago, the Tide had a top 5 offense led by Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith, and Najee Harris, while Bryce Young won the Heisman Trophy in 2021.
This year has been different, though, as this year’s Alabama offense is nowhere near what it was in 2020. While the Tide did cut the Ole Miss lead to 17-14 with 8 seconds to go in the half, they’ve struggled to get much going.
While Nick Saban said in an ESPN interview that the Tide’s struggles start with him in an attempt to shield O’Brien and defensive coordinator Pete Golding from criticism, O’Brien is hearing it from fans after a rough first 2 quarters in Oxford:
Bill O’Brien will do that to you. https://t.co/i76bcL3dNb
