Mac Jones' first NFL completion was a perfect pass
They say you never forget your first, and New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones certainly won’t.
Jones, the former Alabama star quarterback, is playing in his first preseason game for the Patriots against the Washington Football Team. Cam Newton started the game for New England, but Jones was brought in during the first quarter to gain some valuable experience.
And when he did, the crowd went wild.

On his very first drive, Jones completed his first NFL pass on a 3rd and 6. The signal caller took the snap and threw a perfect back shoulder throw to move the chains. Receiver Kristian Wilkerson made a nice catch, but Jones threw a perfect ball to complete the first down.

Will Mac Jones start as a rookie over Cam Newton? It’s going to be an interesting quarterback battle to watch.
The Patriots selected Jones at No. 15 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.
