29-year-old QB, former SEC player, reportedly enters transfer portal
If you think Stetson Bennett is old, this quarterback will definitely shock you.
North Texas quarterback Austin Aune has reportedly entered the transfer portal. Aune is 29 years old and will turn 30 next season as a grad transfer.
Aune is a former Arkansas signee and spent the spring of 2018 with the Razorbacks. Prior to that, he spent 6 seasons in the New York Yankees organization after being taken in the 2012 MLB First-Year Player draft.
Aune is originally a 3-star prospect who signed with TCU in 2012 before deciding on baseball.
Despite being older than any other college quarterback, Aune put up big numbers in 2022, recording 3,547 yards and 33 touchdowns. Whatever college gives him a shot will get a talented, experienced quarterback.
North Texas finished the season 7-7, capping off its year with a loss to Boise State in the Miami Beach Bowl.
