Bruce Pearl after Auburn's win over Kentucky: 'We're an everything school'
Auburn has basketball fever on The Plains, in case you haven’t noticed. The No. 2 Tigers boosted their resume for the No. 1 ranking by topping No. 12 Kentucky 80-71 on Saturday.
After the game, Bruce Pearl was interviewed on CBS while AU’s “Jungle” crowd at Auburn Arena celebrated the big win. Pearl recognizes that football is king at Auburn, but says AU is an “everything school.”
“Look at the kids, I mean look at our students, look at our players,” Pearl said to Gary Parrish. “And Gary, that’s what it’s all about right there. What I’m so excited about is – I know this happens at North Carolina, I know it happens at Kansas and other places – this is happening in Auburn, Alabama. We’re a football school! But we’re also an everything school!”
“We’re a football school BUT WE’RE ALSO AN EVERYTHING SCHOOL.”

Speaking of football, Auburn football coach Bryan Harsin visited the crowd outside Auburn Arena before Saturday’s game. Auburn students started camping out in tents 24 hours before the game.
