Hugh Freeze believes he shocked some people on his first signing day as head coach of Auburn.

The former Liberty head coach brought in some talented players with his first recruiting class and now he is looking to have a solid first year at the helm of the Tigers.

“We as coaches tend to think we can pull off a great season,” Freeze said. “I’m very pleased with the effort given by our staff and everybody involved with Auburn recruiting here on campus. I think we made some heads turn. How well that will end up today is kind of uncertain.”

Despite a disappointing 5-7 season and a coach firing, Auburn still managed to pull of the No. 20 recruiting class for the class of 2023. The Tigers welcome 7 5-stars and have a chance to be competitive in the SEC again in Freeze’s first season.
