Gilber Edmond, former South Carolina edge rusher, announces commitment to ACC program
Gilber Edmond is heading back to his home state for his next stop in his college career. The former South Carolina edge rusher is transferring to Florida State, according to On3.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Edmond played at South Carolina for 3 seasons and redshirted his freshman campaign after 2 appearances. Edmond appeared in all 12 games last season for South Carolina, amassing 2 sacks and 9 tackles for loss.
Edmond arrived at South Carolina as a 3-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite. Those rankings also determined Edmond as the No. 71 WDE in the nation.
South Carolina finished this season with an 8-5 record after falling to Notre Dame 45-38 in the Gator Bowl. Still, the Gamecocks finished the season strong with top 10 wins over Tennessee and rival Clemson.
