Graham Mertz is officially SEC-bound.

The former Wisconsin quarterback, who entered the transfer portal after 4 years on the Badgers’ roster, announced on his Instagram account on Wednesday that he has committed to Florida. He will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.

A preseason Manning Award, Davey O’Brien Award, and Johnny Unitas watch list member in 2021, Mertz threw for 2,136 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 2022, averaging just 178.0 yards per game through the air. For his career in Madison, he threw for 5,405 yards and 38 touchdowns versus 26 interceptions. His best performance in a Wisconsin uniform came on Oct. 9 against Northwestern, as he threw for 299 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Mertz joins highly-regarded 2023 recruit Jaden Rashada, who signed with the Gators on Wednesday a month after flipping from Miami, in the Gators QB room, along with Jack Miller III. Billy Napier is seeking a replacement for Anthony Richardson, who has declared for the 2023 NFL Draft.
