Mel, I am glad you found these tips helpful. I also started out with a lot of clay in my garden. It took some time, but these techniques have continued to improve the soil each year.

Compost IS the best thing to add to your soil. My soil is mostly clay. I also like to add peat moss and a little coarse sand. Usually 50% and 25 % each of the other two. It helps keep the soil loose.
