Kirby Smart explains what to look for in scouting: 'Sign the ones that can't stand losing'
Georgia lost a good chunk of its starters from last season’s National Championship victory, added just 1 player in the transfer portal and turned around to win another. The Bulldogs won by recruiting and development, plain and simple.
Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart explained which players to look out for in recruiting Tuesday morning following the championship win.
And he brings up a good point:
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart on scouting players: “The difference in these two [Javon Bullard and Brock Bowers] is these hate to lose. These guys HATE to lose against each other day in and day out … Sign the ones that can’t stand losing”

Can’t argue with that logic.
Javon Bullard and Brock Bowers are perfect examples of that, and they haven’t done a lot of losing in college so far. Bullard won defensive MVP for his 3 forced turnovers, while Bowers hauled in 7 receptions for 152 yards and a touchdown in a spectacular performance.
Both will return for the Bulldogs next season.
Billy Napier: I always look for players who are PATIENT
Well he’s trying to change the culture within the program, so stuff like that always requires time.
It doesn’t seem like there’s a single player at UGA that doesn’t show 100% intensity on the field. Reminds me of old Bear Bryant players back in the day.
I hate to lose. And when behind in a game and you start to make plays, there is something that gives you chill bumps knowing the score is about to change because you hate to lose. If you don’t get chill bumps, you understand or have a clue of what I’m talking about. The pursuit of the will to win and that feeling of a controlled anger within I cannot describe on the football field, knowing you have time on the clock still and the tables are starting to turn.
Maybe some you get me or maybe not.
Oh, I forgot also the adrenaline really starts to kick in as well. Are y’all with me?
Isn’t it interesting that Stetson Bennett at 25 years old should not be playing against 18 year olds…
Leave college and go get a job at the rec center old man.
Georgia fans look like the characters in the movie “Deliverance”.
Oooops… true!
Lol!
Isn’t it interesting Hendon Hooker is nearly the same age? This idiot will be part of our healthcare system one day? We’re doomed.
Isn’t it interesting that the Georgia fans will celebrate at the Golden Corral…
Snaggle tooth buffoons…
He’s 23.
But nice try.
Hookers birthday is 1/13/98. He will be 25 in 2 days. I know math is hard for a voltard.
Actually, I like the Golden Corral.
