Scott Cochran left Alabama to join Kirby Smart’s Georgia staff as a special teams coordinator following the 2019 season.

But, during the 2021 campaign, Cochran took time away from the Bulldogs to prioritize his mental health. He returned before the end of the season and looks to again be a full-time member of the staff in 2022.

On Independence Day, Cochran took to Instagram to reveal he was celebrating one year of sobriety, as you can see below:

“Proud to be 1 year sober,” Cochran’s post reads. “This one means a lil more than the rings.”

Cochran spent the 2007 to 2019 seasons with Alabama before heading to Georgia ahead of the 2020 campaign.
