Jim Knowles will need to get his Ohio State defense ready for the challenge of Georgia’s potent offense.

Heading into the Peach Bowl, Georgia is coming off a 50-point performance against LSU in the SEC Championship Game. Less than 1 month after that dominant performance, Georgia will be back in Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the College Football Playoff Semifinal vs. Ohio State.

While speaking to the media ahead of Saturday’s Playoff game, Knowles detailed Ohio State’s strategy against Georgia’s offense. He described Georgia as a “versatile” offense and pointed out Georgia tight end Brock Bowers’ contributions to the offense.

“It’s a complete offense. It’s developed like an NFL offense,” Knowles said.

Knowles understood that he will need to prepare his defense for the best version of Georgia. The Bulldogs were led by quarterback Stetson Bennett throughout the season. He finished the season as a Heisman finalist and passed for 3,425 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions.

Bennett made the most of his weapons during the season and Georgia is in a position to repeat as national champions. Knowles anticipated a possible matchup against Georgia when he took the job after the 2021 season.

“My job is to prepare these guys the best I possibly can for the job that awaits them,” Knowles said. “We expected to be here and when I took the job, I expected that it would lead to this.”

No. 4 Ohio State will look to pull off the upset against No. 1 Georgia in the Peach Bowl on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
