Stetson Bennett IV's original commitment tweet goes viral following 2nd title win
Stetson Bennett IV is a 2-time national champion and will go out on a high note.
Everyone has heard the story by now; Walk-on turned starter, benched, regains the starting job and wins 2 championships for the team he grew up rooting for. It’s a storybook ending to a career that was improbable, to say the least.
Bennett’s original tweet has been making the rounds on Twitter late Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Crazy to think what an impact this simple commitment would have on the Georgia program, which had not won a title since 1980 before Bennett broke the drought in 2021-22.
Shows what hard work, grit and determination will do.
Excited to announce my commitment as a preferred walk-on to UGA! GO DAWGS!! pic.twitter.com/1cWAXWcl1m

And with a 2nd title under his belt, as well as a 2nd title MVP, SEC Championship win and many more accolades, Bennett will call it a career.
Across his 6 seasons in college football, Bennett threw for 8,428 yards, 66 touchdowns and 21 interceptions with a 160.9 passer rating. Not too shabby.
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard
(Although Bennett is plenty talented)
He was so much more accurate than Duggan (albeit he didn’t have 4 300 pound D Lineman in his face all game).
If people like Kyle Allen, Mike White, Zach Wilson, Davis Mills, Justin Fields, Baker Mayfield, Kenny Pickett, etc, etc, etc can play in the NFL, so can Stetson Bennett.
Yes. Honorable mention for offensive MVP’s for sure for the offensive linemen. They have been good all year and are the unsung heroes. They never get enough credit.
