Lee Corso on GameDay: ESPN announces status for legendary analyst this week
Lee Corso will not be on ESPN’s “College GameDay” this week, his third absence from the popular pregame show this season.
Corso will miss College GameDay at Jackson State this weekend because of a health issue, ESPN announced.
“Coach Corso is in good spirits and he hopes to be back on the road with the crew soon,” ESPN wrote in a statement.

Corso has missed 2 previous shows of GameDay earlier in October. On Oct. 1, he missed the broadcast from Clemson after he woke up under the weather. The following week at Kansas, he was again absent.
Corso, 87, is a fan favorite largely because of his headgear picks at the end of the show, which typically gets the crowd into it ahead of the biggest game of the week. But he’s also been a great ambassador for the sport for many years.
