ESPN’s Heather Dinich shares pick for CFP National Champion
Heather Dinich thinks that college football’s national championship trophy will head to a new home in Ohio after this season.
Discussing the College Football Playoff landscape headed into Rivalry Week and the last games of the regular season, the ESPN analyst said on “Get Up” this week that Ohio State is the team best poised to take down defending national champion Georgia:
“I sat here in August and I told you Ohio State was going to win it all. I’m going to sit here and continue to say the Buckeyes. I say that because I think they’re the best team that can give Georgia fits. The reason is because of CJ Stroud at QB, their turnover margin, and the fact Georgia has looked vulnerable at times.”
The Buckeyes will first need to take care of No. 3 Michigan before worrying about potentially facing Georgia in the CFP. An Ohio State championship run will also hinge on whether or not the Buckeyes can overcome their 1-9 record against SEC teams in bowl games. The last time the B1G took home a championship was when Ohio State took the trophy back in 2014.
We’ll see how the CFP shakes out after Rivalry Week.
