Contract details revealed for new Tennessee OC Joey Halzle in report
Contract details were recently revealed for new Tennessee offensive coordinator Joey Halzle in a report shortly after he was promoted from his former position of quarterbacks coach by the Volunteers.
According to the report from Adam Sparks of The Knoxville News, Hall’s promotion was official before the Orange Bowl matchup against Clemson. His new deal includes a raise from $400,000 in 2022 to $850,000 annually as offensive coordinator. That includes a $290,000 base salary plus $560,000 in supplemental pay.
His contract also was extended 2 years and is set to expire in January 2026.
The move is a good one considering the amount of offensive success the Vols had in 2022 as quarterback Hendon Hooker and wide receiver Jalin Hyatt ascended to national notoriety and are set to be some of the highest picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. It’s a trend they will hope to continue into the 2023 season.

pretty nice pkg for a first time OC.
Clearly Tennessee runs Heupel’s system though so I’m a little surprised by this. How much will this guy really control?
Mizzou also hired an OC but we actually needed one. Tennessee was rolling with Heupel. Though I do wonder how things will be without Hooker. Heupels system doesn’t work as well without an elite QBs and WRs.
Well the offense looked pretty good against Clemson without Hooker or Hyatt.
Good thing we still have elite QBs and WRs
You better hope so.
Man what a job he ain’t calling no plays getting that money
Hey, Crissy, who is the Hall subject you mention in first line of the second paragraph?
