Andy Katz ranks 10 top places to play in college basketball; 2 SEC arenas make the list
Andy Katz has seen a great deal of college basketball throughout his many years covering the sport, and on Wednesday, he released a ranking of what he thought were the top places to play nationally.
Topping his list was Allen Fieldhouse, the home of the Kansas Jayhawks since 1955, while Cameron Indoor Stadium, which has played host to Duke since 1940, came in at No. 2.
The SEC wasn’t left out as a pair of programs from the conference made Katz’s list: Kentucky’s Rupp Arena, at No. 5, and Arkansas’ Bud Walton Arena, at No. 8.
Other schools in Katz’s top 10 were Purdue’s Mackey Arena (No. 3), Gonzaga’s McCarthey Athletic Center (No. 4), Arizona’s McKale Center (No. 6), Indiana’s Assembly Hall (No. 7), North Carolina’s Dean E. Smith Center (No. 9), and Texas Tech’s United Supermarkets Arena (No. 10).
