Former Tennessee QB Kaidon Salter finds new home, will play for former SEC coach
Now Salter has found a new home with a coach that has experience rehabbing players’ careers.
Salter, a Texas native that was rated as a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle, has landed at Liberty and will play for Hugh Freeze this season according to Matt Zenitz of On 3 Sports.
The quarterback now follows in the footsteps of transfer quarterbacks set to play for Freeze, a list that includes current Liberty starting QB Malik Willis, and former Ole Miss starting signal-callers Bo Wallace and Chad Kelly.
Salter was an early enrollee at Tennessee but managed to get himself suspended for the first spring practice of the Heupel era. After coming off suspension, Salter was arrested near campus for simple possession just three weeks after being reinstated to the team.
It was at that point that Tennessee dismissed the quarterback.
