The 2023 NFL Mock Draft will take place in Kansas City in late April, and several SEC stars should hear their names called in Round 1.

Recently, CBS Sports expert Josh Edwards updated his first-round mock draft, and he had 13 SEC standouts going in the first 32 picks.

As you can see below, he projects the Carolina Panthers to trade up with the Chicago Bears in order to land Alabama QB Bryce Young with the first pick:

  • No. 1 — Bryce Young, QB, Alabama — Carolina Panthers
  • No. 3 — Will Anderson Jr., Edge, Alabama — Chicago Bears
  • No. 4 — Will Levis, QB, Kentucky — Indianapolis Colts
  • No. 5 — Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia — Seattle Seahawks
  • No. 10 — Cam Smith, DB, South Carolina — Philadelphia Eagles
  • No. 13 — Brian Branch, DB, Alabama — New York Jets
  • No. 14 — Drew Sanders, Edge, Arkansas — New England Patriots
  • No. 15 — Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida — Seattle Seahawks
  • No. 18 — Kelee Ringo, DB, Georgia — Detroit Lions
  • No. 22 — Broderick Jones, OL, Georgia — Los Angeles Chargers
  • No. 25 — Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia — Jacksonville Jaguars
  • No. 27 — Nolan Smith, Edge, Georgia — Dallas Cowboys
  • No. 28 — O’Cyrus Torrence, OL, Florida — Buffalo Bills
  • No. 32 — Antonio Johnson, DB, Texas A&M — Philadelphia Eagles

The No. 32 pick is technically a second-round pick, as the Miami Dolphins had to forfeit their first-round selection this year.

We’ll see if any other SEC standouts can work their way into the Round 1 discussion in the coming weeks.
