Urban Meyer's time in Jacksonville coming to an abrupt end? New report adds fuel to fire
Urban Meyer’s short tenure with the Jacksonville Jaguars has been well publicized, but most of it has been for all the wrong reasons. On the field, the Jaguars sit 0-4 and last place in the AFC South. Off the field, things might be worse.
Over the weekend, a viral video surfaced of Meyer at a bar in Ohio with a woman, and he addressed it Monday during his press conference. Combine that with the Chris Doyle debacle, and Meyer’s tenure has been close to a disaster.
Now, former NFL GM Michael Lombardi has added more fuel to the speculation fire.
“According to two Jacksonville sources, there are many closed-door meetings happening over the last two days in the football offices and none of them have anything to do with the Titans. Stay tuned. This might get ugly,” Lombardi tweeted.
Reaction was split about Meyer, who chose to come out of retirement and coach the Jaguars, as to whether he would succeed in the NFL. The odds have dramatically shifted from maybe to likely not. Of course, there’s still time to turn everything around, but with the way things are trending right now, that would be a surprise.
After the video surfaced, 2 ESPN analysts called for Meyer to be relieved of his duties.
How is this all going to end?
