College football Power 5 head coach fired following embarrassing loss Saturday
The first big college football head coach opening of the 2021 season has arrived just after Week 2. USC has announced the dismissal of head coach Clay Helton.
The announcement comes following USC’s embarrassing home loss to Stanford. The Trojans fell to the Cardinal 42-28.
Southern Cal AD Mike Bohn made the announcement on Twitter:

Helton, who has long been attached to the hot seat in the CFB rumor mill, has been at USC since 2010 and the full-time head coach since the 2015 season when he succeeded Steve Sarkisian. Helton has a 46-24 as the Trojans’ head coach, including his 2013 game as an interim head coach.
