Saban will be the first to tell you that with success, the assistant coaching carousel will be fast and furious. How Kirby reloads and if he can sustain the success will be the real indicator of how great he is. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great coach and has done well, but sustaining it now will be difficult with staff moves becoming a regular thing.
Hurts has always had an unbelievable work ethic. He’s a winner. He doesn’t back down. He doesn’t listen to the noise. HE knew all along he had what it takes. Happy to see him prove it to us all. Exceptional athlete.

The reasoning is this - He doesn’t believe his offense will be as good or better next year. He has build his resume. He has been an OC in the SEC, has produced consecutive efficient QBs, and his offense has improved each year. He thinks he has to leave while he’s at the top, before anything brings him down. Even though it’s Big12, he sees a chance to add another good year to his resume and to get more recognition, which he hopes will lead to a decent HC job in short order. It’s the resume move.
He just won those Honey Boo Boos two National Championships in a row. He can do whatever he wants!!
