Kobi Albert, Kentucky DB transfer, announces SEC West destination

Kobi Albert, a Kentucky defensive back who entered the transfer portal a week ago, has announced his new program.

Albert wrote on social media, “Y’all call it Starkvegas, I call it HOME!!!” Albert is an early key addition for Zach Arnett.

Albert hails from Fairfield (Alabama) Prep, and had 22 scholarship offers coming out of high school. He was rated 4-stars, the No. 17 Alabama product, No. 20 ATH and No. 384 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite.

Albert committed to Auburn, but later flipped to the Wildcats.

Albert made 10 appearances for the Wildcats this season, but missed games against Miami (Ohio), Florida and Northern Illinois. He made 3 tackles on the year. He recorded his first tackle for loss in the Music City Bowl against Iowa.

  • I think this move surprised some people in Lexington. Maybe it just wasn't the right fit for him personally. Best wishes young man in the classroom and on the field.
