No school is making billions. Millions yes. The whole group of schools, billion dollars will come with 12 school playoff. Most of the money the schools makes goes into the programs, all the sports that don't make a profit, scholarships etc. Big money donors cover coaches pay over the minimal amount the public schools pay. But yes, players deserve more than a degree at this point.

When you are the best player in you high school and I that sschool's district it is easy to think it will alway be that easy. It only gets harder at each level.

The problem and difference is there is no cap, no limit and free transfer. That is not the nfl model. The players that leave obviously have their reasons. Most didn't get significant playing time and when they did they blew their opportunities. Sure they can go tobsome team lacking all the talent and play and probably succeed. NIL and thebportalnwill destroy what college football was. But you can't roll it back now. It happened with basically no rules in place to control it. A&M proved you can amass a fortune and a bunch of players and it makes no difference if you can't coach. Plenty of money now with expanded playoff the schools will make fortunes.

I think we can retire the "it's a miracle UGA can even play football after sending 15 players to the NFL" lines. I understand it's a great talking point but it really means nothing. They had a great team last year and have a good team this year. It is not rocket science.

Alabama won 10 games in a season under Dubose, Shula and Perkins. None of them are/were great coaches.

There is no such thing as a defending national champion in college football. Every team is unique every season.

LSU exceeded all external expectations. That is an achievement. Tennessee basically did as well but those fans got it in their heads that it was all real and they were going to cruise into the playoff and win it all. LSU fans were much more realistic and understood what was happening was special but also tenuous. Good job.

Well we are not talking about who deserves it. The committee just wants the 4 best teams. All this talk about who beat who when and by how much etc means nothing to them.

Ranking bias is a thing. I could see the committee doing it just because. It will take some real chaos. TCU and USC need to both lose. That would make it easier to sell.

It would be nice if we could apply math formulas to this but the committee doesn't seem to do that and they do have recent bias eyes by seeming to only remember what just happened in the last 2 weeks or so.

If they consider strength of schedule Bama would trump others. Lots of ifs required still. Pure chaos on championship weekend would help. All the favorites lose except Georgia. That would be ideal.
