Daeshun Ruffin, Ole Miss guard, makes announcement regarding future with team
Daeshun Ruffin has been one of Ole Miss’ better players across the past few seasons. On Tuesday, the 5-foot-9 Rebels point guard announced that he would be stepping away from the team to focus on getting healthy, both physically and mentally.
Ruffin missed the first 7 games of the season and returned in December. He still was not at 100% and has since missed 3 of the past 5 games for Ole Miss, dealing with a lingering knee injury.
Here is Ruffin’s full statement, which he released on social media Tuesday evening:

Ole Miss basketball has struggled this year, partially because of injures. The Rebels have dropped 9 of their last 10 games and sit at 9-12 (1-7 SEC) on the season.
Ruffin made his announcement prior to Ole Miss’ home game against Kentucky Tuesday night. The game is set to tip off at 9 p.m. EST.
