Not one thing on Stetson Bennett's drinking and driving arrest in Texas on SDS. Get an email from the SEC asking you not to make it a big deal?
Stetson Bennett is a solid QB for being 27. But his success it totally geared around that team. He had a few individual plays but let's be real. He wouldn't start for any Pac-12 team because of how teams need a solid QB to be decent.
I see him going to ASU because his dad went there and they have Oregon’s OC now as a head coach. Problem is the Pac-12 is as solid now as it’s been since Pete Carroll was coaching. ASU needs to rebuild and there may be no time for guidance for him? If I was him I’d go to Utah and wait a year.
Yeah, stay away from music if you didn’t include R.E.M, Black Crowes, or Allman Brothers in your list. I’m guessing you went with some cheesy band like Hootie because you’re not a true music afficianado. Walking Dead seasons 1-3 are solid. Ozark season 1 solid True Detective 1 and 3 are epic and show each state very well in a Southern Noir way.
Story of sports. Idiot parents. So many solid athletes have been ruined by parents or family members that know how to "do this". He's not even a Top 25 Player. Shame on any team that pays him. Good for him if he gets the money--how can you hate on anyone for getting what they think theyre worth?
I’m from the Bay Area and know the area well. Pittsburg, where Rashada is from, is about 40 miles outsides SF. It’s one of the poorer, industrial areas of the Bay Area. Some don’t even consider it in the Bay Area. Not saying Rashada comes from a poor family—but that’s the jist of Pittburg. I understand him and his father trying to get as much money as they can. But asking for over $10M? Naw…he’s worth at most $1M per what other players are pulling in. I think his father is behind this because he knows $1M won’t do much for you in the Bay Area. They want FU money and that’s not due yet. Rashada needs to prove himself. No school will pay that in the Bay Area or SEC. His dad is going to ruin him.
Everyone at USC and around the nation felt Riley should fire him. That said—Grinch was given a terrible defense with a few holes patched. He was not given a great group of players. It’s much more difficult to create an average defense than it is to create a superior offense. It takes time and only with that I do excuse Grinch. The bowl game was the worst they played. But I think more credit should be given to Tulane. They came in with a solid offense that tore up Kansas State (Big 12 Champ) and once they found their bearings they wanted it more than USC. Grinch should get two more years. If no improvement is seen next year then he should be on the firing line.
USC is lower in other polls. I tend to agree with you but I suspect it's based on Riley pulling the transfers in to spots on OL/DL. He's doing it right now. We've pulled a lot of starters from various teams to bulk up. We'll see though. People forget how hard it is to win a Natty. Took UGA 41 years to get back to one. Bama made it look easy.
6 Pac-12 teams like other polls. I do not agree with Utah being as high as they are and I know the league well. They looked good against USC only because Caleb pulled his hammy. USC had them beat the first game, like Tulane, but the refs played a serious part in helping USC lose that game. This is not homer speak, but fact. Washington should be the highest with Oregon and USC next. If we don’t cannibalize each other next year we should have a team in the playoffs. That team will still have a hard time beating any SEC team in the playoffs. USC is stacking up transfer players with size and girth on the OL and DL, but they won’t have the depth of a UGA, Bama, or even LSU.
How'd you forget the Black Crowes? Petty is there. Hootie is a laughable and silly band no one really admits to listening to.
Just add more air and gas to the dumpster fire. It will burnout soon enough.
His immature petulant personality shines bright when he’s not winning it all. Always been that way. I bet he’s annoying AF to be around 24/7.
You have looked back on his record, correct? He’s no offensive genius. He’s not even a novice offensive coordinator at this point. He’s lucky Lamar Jackson signed with Louisville or he’d of never coached again. He’s been run out of the last three places he coach. Last season at Missouri State he was 5-6. You think he had adapted to offenses in the past 10 years?
MATT - Did you used to post on CBS Sport's forums when they were heavy back in 2007-2010?
No win situation for K-State. They win and everyone outside the Big 12 will say "Bama laid down". Glad the 12 team playoffs will be here as bowls become less relevant.
The kid is special. Like Kyler or Caleb special. Just have to wait and see if Florida can hold on to him.
They don't deserve anything for sitting next weekend and doing nothing. No team does. Field should be set with the top 4 right now.
Playoff field should be set right now. Unless Bama or Ohio State play an extra game they should not merit a spot in the playoffs over any of the top four team. You don't get to the playoffs for playing the least amount of competition.
Has anyone been a head coach at more places than Lane? Oakland Raiders Tennessee Volunteers USC Trojans FAU Ole Miss (FILL IN BLANK)
Please quit crying over that year. Everyone outside of Baton Rogue knows USC would of opened a can of whoop on LSU had they played. You guys act like you would of won or something. Only guy guys.
USC is overrated. However, if they plow through UCLA, Notre Dame, and win the Pac-12 Championship against Oregon they deserve to be included. Once there they have very little shot to win. But if we’re looking at it like the NFL—maybe they can get hot and avoid injuries. The talent and coaching is there to compete.
Bama will be interesting next year considering they have no generational QB stepping up or in the recruiting pipeline. Bill O'Brien is not a great developer of talent on the offense side. It was the most epic ride in history but had to end some time.
You guys stacked. Also shows how much coaching matters as A&M has the same talent.
No idea why you’d compare Oregon and Tennessee? Both teams are entirely different from Week 1. Oregon may not be able to beat UGA but I guarantee they’d get a different team that could take them to the wire.
Would like to see the Vols win as they've helped out a lot of solid ex Trojans. But I think Georgia blows them out.
That's because you're truly ignorant due to never walking more than 5-10 miles outside the city line you were born within.
