Hahahahaha I love this so much. Please keep roasting Todd Exotic, mrtruth. Do another scene. But seriously, hiring 3rd and Grantham would clearly set Alabama back. Unless Saban just overrides everything he does and basically coordinates the defense himself.
This is why football is so much better. Instead of this pearl clutching over a discreet elbow, it's actually encouraged that you slam into the man across from you as hard as you physically can and drive his @$$ into the turf.
I was thinking the same thing, humper. Wild tom imagine how far we've come when a guy thinks, "I don't know if I'm gonna get enough playing time here at UGA, I think I'll transfer to Bama for better odds."
Right. Fake news trying to make it sound like Kirby is anything other than 100% Georgia. Also, how many times do we have to have the same dumb argument? "UGA might not have replaced Alabama yet, but they're on their way?" Got it.
I wasn't a "hater," but definitely a doubter. I was clamoring for JT Daniels to return ASAP last fall so we'd have a better chance down the stretch. Stetson proved me wrong 100% and I absolutely admit my take was freezing cold.
gwhite, lol, the only way your beloved obscure statistics could be even more obscure and pointless is if you started analyzing the quality of shoelace tying and tape jobs on the ankles and wrists. I'm sure TN probably beat UGA in those metrics.
How completely on brand for Petrino to take another job for a few weeks and then leave that program in the dust when a better opportunity arises.
Saban whining that Bama doesn’t get special treatment because of their brand. Why would the CFP selection committee consider a two-loss, non-division winner? Just makes him and the program look petulant.
AU Tville, I agree with you on all points. But, since that's the situation we're dealing with, I can't think of anyone else I would trust to get on the tape and the whiteboard and scheme up some adjustments than Kirby and Muschamp.
Haha I was gonna say the same thing, kinda like how stores have started opening for "Black Friday" deals on Thanksgiving Day, Tosu Suckeyes are starting their post-game excuses pre-game.
Can't think of any other response Carter could have given to prove McShay wrong. Just brush it off. I think one of Kirby's most underappreciated skills since 2016 is educating his guys on the media. It's impossible to never read your own press, but you hear player after player spouting the same message year after year--some variation of "whatever, we're just gonna go play."
Holy cow, yeah that's wild. We play Tosu Suckeyes.
Don't really care about this guy's opinion, but I am looking forward to nine conference games. I will trade the better competition and the increased probability of an occasional loss for the absolute boringness of watching SEC teams pound Directional State University. I usually don't even watch those games: either it's 35-0 at halftime and the starters are done, or it's annoyingly close because we played down. Neither outcomes make enjoyable TV.
The mental gymnastics you have to go through to convince yourself that UGA isn't good...whew. I know I'm not the first one to tell you this, but the only stat that matters is 13-0, bro. You sound like Darth Mullen when he was explaining even though they lost to Kentucky, Florida had more yards... "Lol"
I was 100% a JT Daniels guy and was furious that he didn't get another chance last year after he healed up. I thought he was our only shot in the CFP. Stetson proved me wrong for sure. I doubted him all the way up until the Kelee Ringo interception.
What concerns me is our players reading this rat poison talking about the Suckeyes having no chance. Yes, we "should" win, but that doesn't mean we can't pull a Georgia and pi$$ it away if we come into the game with the wrong mindset.
Reminder that Kirby's two injury statuses are "day to day, who knows" and "out for the year." Makes other teams' game planning more difficult.
I know it was easy to be a Bobo hater a few years ago, but if Monken left and Bobo became OC again, we'd be fine. Y'all forget Bobo had some prolific offenses during the Aaron Murray era. Most importantly, he has more talent now than we did 2010-2015. Jimmys and Joes are more important than Xs and Os.
His interview game is ready for the NFL. Well done.
I thought he handled that situation perfectly, and I'm a Dawg homer. If he doesn't dance, he's too egotistical and self-important. If he dances wildly like a goober, that's bad press also. He kept it pretty much like Will Smith told that fat guy in whatever that movie was where you just snap and move real deliberately. Keep it in a narrow box.
I cannot understand how an NFL team would draft someone based on potential. Yes, he's physically gifted, but I would think a prerequisite to taking a chance that he can succeed against NFL defenses week in and week out is to see at least one season of sustained high performance against SEC defenses, not extremely erratic and up-or-down play.
Right? I was thinking the same thing. If they're so dangerous, why did Michigan straight up whip their @$$es in Columbus by 22?
Not worried about tOSU Suckeyes. Michigan showed how it's done, just hit 'em in the mouth and don't let up. Go Dawgs.
It really is crazy how Kirby does it. No-name defense other than Jalen Carter, lost our best edge rusher (Nolan Smith) for the season, don't have any All-Americans on offense other than Bowers and maybe Washington, and we win ugly in games that can't be very entertaining unless you're a Dawg fan.
Haha, Beamer owned that guy. It's funny, we didn't know he had this much personality when he was UGA TEs coach under Kirby's "one voice" policy where only the head coach is allowed to talk to the media.
tOSU Suckeyes are overrated/overhyped every year. Hopefully Ryan Day continues on his trend of winning all the games he's supposed to against weak opponents and then losing to the few good teams the Suckeyes actually play.
"If this were any other 2-loss team that hadn’t won their own division, much less conference, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. But because Alabama has been the standard for nearly 2 decades, the Tide get the benefit of the doubt." With the fire of a thousand suns, NO! If the committee actually does this right, "brands" and anything that did not happen during the 2022 season should be 100% irrelevant. There is no "special benefit of the doubt" based on non-2022 seasons. Neither tOSU Suckeyes and Alabama deserve to make the CFP if you throw out every consideration except 2022 performance (which is "supposed" to be all that matters).
