Any lateral move at the elite level, and being paid 2 mil a year puts you in that hemisphere, is going to cost Grubb some serious loyalty points with the staff, head coach, and fans. I'm shocked this guy was willing to risk that kind of money and perception. He came to Tuscaloosa with one heck of an open mind.
Why does an OC travel all the way across America after just receiving a raise that puts him at 2 million a year, and, at the same time, risk alienating the Washington fan base by flirting with ALABAMA on a lateral move at best? Yeah, he was interested.
In 2017 no one was wrong about Jalen Hurts. But Jalen has worked hard to make himself a great QB. The Eagles would be saying the same thing. All the credit to him and hope he wins it all.
I knew Charles couldn't go through an entire lifespan being wrong every single time.
Glen Schumann is a BAMA player and coach. At 32, is at that age to take the next step up. But who knows?
Muss is a whining dude, never going to win sportsman of the year. The idea that the hogs were going to scare this Tide team is the wrong strategy. Frankly, BAMA is just too long and dynamic for most. When Clowney and Miller hit those 3 huge 3s in about a minute, it was over and out in Fayetteville.
Don't look now, but the interim guy seems to be doing alright for himself. And Jimmy Dykes also said that Texas isn't the job that will have elite coaches dropping everything and heading to Austin. I agree with that, in any sport.
I've been watching vicious head hits and cheap shots at players' knees put even great players on stretchers for decades. Then see that player go over and tap the injured player on the helmet like it was nothing personal. If this isn't the height of hypocrisy and on the NFL level at that. All I can tell you, boys, is don't let that QB hurt you.
What's really news is that Agiye Hall is still news to you.
Standout QB John Rhys Plumlee? Maybe his feet, not that arm. Therein lies the reason many power 5 players will be transferring to UCF.
To Paw Finebaum, G-Mac, and those of his ilk, coach Saban will let you know when his "dynasty" is over. Heads up: This ain't it.
Teams that recruit at elite levels will only need to cherry-pick the magic portal. Others, like Ole Miss, Arkansas, and others, will use it for daily sustenance and yearly sustainability.
You would think that a little SDS proofreading could have saved her from herself.
If the fortunes of BAMA make a dramatic change it will be with the quality of coaching and being able to introduce new ideas into a very stale approach.
I would assume we are about to hear from his head coach real soon. Mel Kipper is losing his hair and Todd McShay is losing his mind.
It's playoff or bust for college football. These bowl games will most certainly remind us of that mantra many times.
Pretty fair assessment. BAMA wants to be a pass-first offense so to have the receivers with a C is a decent summation as to why the offense struggled at times. Pete Golding and bad coaching is the real reason the Tide had two losses though. We've watched this dog and pony show for too many years now and at some level, you would think coach Saban would cut his losses.
I thought the guy was a lot more interesting than his offense, personally. But as a BAMA fan, I struggle with the Tide's commitment to the run these days and a Mike Leach offense is practically void of balance in comparison to that. Still, he was fun for the conference and it's kinda sad to be reminded once again that we are all on the clock.
A lot of yards are just a by-product of the system, period. Let's all just take another look at Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray and pause before we push the lever again for Caleb Williams in Lincoln Riley's offense. Enough is enough.
Ohio State's brand of air spread, finesse football is going to get measured for the second time this year. Let's see if the LOS and physicality have again caught up with college football. I'm pulling for Georgia, not the team, the style of big-boy football. And I hope BAMA will take it to heart.
Ohio State has to be thrilled. They now get Michigan on steroids.
Nick Saban tried to hire the guy when he was radioactive. A lot of people recognize his talent and many will easily find his flaws. I'm guessing everyone, including the group that just went out on a ledge to hire him, is "a little nervous."
Don't look now but BAMA is deep and uber-talented. It is going to be a lot of fun in the SEC this year. Great win BAMA.
2 losses are not a death sentence. Where have you been Mr. Nightingale? LSU won it all in the BCS in 2007 with 2 losses. If Auburn had won the 2017 SECCG and they would have been in with 2 losses. If LSU had beaten TAMU and then Georgia and they would have gotten in with 2 losses. "IF" you win your conference championship with 2 losses in the SEC and you can get in. Unfortunately, Bama doesn't have the opportunity in Atlanta. That's the only problem for the Tide.
Tua isn't dinking and dunking the ball like so many offenses in the NFL. RPOs and spread concepts are throwing horizontally and depth isn't really asked of even the greatest of QBs on balance. Tua is going vertical and has the best total yards per throw in the NFL. Take that talking heads and know-it-alls.
It's the system. It's the system. It will always be the system.
Absolutely correct. Jalen Milroe didn't have to throw. BAMA had 3 running plays that went over 70 yards in the 4th quarter. Milroe just missed a bomb to Burton before he took off on his own. Getting first-team reps this week could dramatically change the strategy and circumstances we put him in.
This dude needs to call up Matt Hayes and they can make a dinner date and help work themselves through their tears and fears for Alabama football. What a bunch of entitled geeks.
