Wilybob, If your goal is to unite every other fan base in the SEC against SC, you are doing a GREAT JOB! If that is not your goal, you should best just SHUT UP!
Rashada has likely shot himself in the foot. A couple of good years in the spotlight doing well at UF would set him up for a productive pro career. Greed doesn’t always work out. No matter what, he is stigmatized going forward. Hopefully, no matter where he lands, he will put his head down & put in the effort needed to gain his teammates respect & a successful pro career.
Hiring Pitrino is confirmation that Limbo knows A&M has had enough of his bs & shows how desperate he is for a solution. Dr. Evil apparently thinks his Mini-Me can save him. This ought to be fun to watch.
I have said before that I don’t really know anything, but Levis as #1 has to be a joke. NFL teams are ran as “for profit” businesses. No offense intended, but Levis is in no way the best player in this draft. Who in their right mind would put their money on that?
Unfortunately, the bet would probably be even on if he ever makes it on the field. Maybe he will get himself straight.
Over the last 60 years (or so), we have witnessed many attempts to create professional football leagues to challenge the NFL. None have found a way to survive long enough to become financially viable because they could not create an adequate income revenue stream, before investors pulled the plug. TV has figured out how to create another much larger professional league to generate programming, without really having to front the money. That is to say that TV is paying for programming by the year as they go, without risking their whole nut. Pumping this money into college football via TV contracts has made college football so valuable as an entity that institutions literally have money to burn & will do anything (legal or not) to keep the money coming. Even better, TV & the institutions have colluded to trick the boosters, who want to see their team win, into paying the players' salaries. Now I just need to figure out how to work this ingenious plan into my business model.
Bring out the BRING BACK MULLEN petition! I am ready to sign. Say what you want about Dan Mullen. I think that he does snarky better than any coach since Spurrier & I'm a Dawg Fan.
I don't know anything & I fully expect some other poster here will attempt to confirm that shortly. With that said, I am of the opinion that the 1st shoe fall in this foot race to the death of college football, as we have known it, occurred in the SEC. Not too many years ago there was a team that offered a, previously unheard of, 10 year guaranteed contract for $75million. Shortly thereafter, every other team that could started following suit, & we entered the phase of the 8 digit buyouts. Not long after that, it became apparent that these coaches were getting filthy rich on the backs of the guys that were really playing these games & out of our pursuit of absolute fairness, NIL came to be. And of course, the NCAA doesn't see fit to place any real constraints on it, & the politicians don't want to limit it (In fact they are mad that they aren't getting NIL deals to run for office). Throw in college free agency & we may as well buy a tombstone & a plot. College football as we have known is going to die its natural death.
I wonder if he got yet another pay increase to stay. Michigan would probably be better off to pay him a little more than let him leave. Top 5 is substantially better than the vast majority of college football programs can hope for.
Todd Monken is 57 years old with a comfortable job that he has mastered & that pays him more than $2million per year, living in Athens, Ga. He is admired & respected by peers & fans alike, & according to him, feels just the same about his boss. I wonder if he would want the challenge of a head coaching position at this time in his life. Of course, Sam Pittman chose that path.
If you are going to call UGA out for scheduling Ball State in the calendar opening left by the Oklahoma cancellation, maybe you could also point out what more suitable opponent happens to have an opening in their schedule that week, that is willing to take that spot.
UGA is BLESSED to have Monken & Bennett! Let’ GO DAWGS!
No holding back now. You can that expect every player who is physically able to contribute will be available for both teams.
But if you are not an A&M fan, it will be fun to watch.
Wow, just Wow. What do you at A&M when you hit rock bottom, you start digging! Good Luck with that! You are going to need it.
Jimbo has exhibited questionable character. Hiring an OC with such poor character, that there can be no question about it, will not likely make things better.
Doubling down on smarmy. Oil money makes for strange bedfellows.
A&M really changed college football with the 10 year $75million guaranteed contract. Now those types of ridiculous coach’s contracts are the norm. That quickly morphed into, if the coaches are going to get that kind of money, the players should get a chance for big money too, resulting in NIL. Just my opinion, but I fear that all of this money will ruin college football as we know it.
Pop tiger, Is your prediction coming from your heart, or your brain? Would you say the same thing if someone put a gun to your head & told you that your life depended on getting your prediction for this game right? I think most fans listen to their heart more than their head.
A&M has already long ago made a deal with the devil. What difference does it make, at this point, if they add another haint?
Based on your posts, it is clear that you are campaigning for the job that you claim Kiffin has!
Better to have a short dynasty, than no dynasty at all. There isn't a fan base at any other school in the country, that isn't envious of UGA having a shot at a back to back.
What?!!! Did A&M not have enough drama already this year? Ha ha ha! We all may as well get used to laughing. What did Kiffin say? GET YOUR POPCORN READY!
Just 1 more reason to not bother ever entering the state of California.
If not for the not so small matter of $86million, Jimbo would be gone. But good for you. A&M can afford to keep throwing more money at it. Word to the wise. Money cannot buy happiness.
Bomani Jones called & wants his shtick back. This is nothing but making outrageous statements to try to be relevant. Rest in peace Erik. No one really cares about anything that you say outside of Knoxville.
