Jalen Hurts receives Player of the Year award from Maxwell Football Club
Certainly did earn it! Congrats Jalen!
My reference was that this is not the type of character anyone needs. These types tend to come and go with little impact. Programs aren't built to SUSTAIN on freshman "hired guns" who have never set foot on a college field.
I don't begrudge these kids getting theirs, but this entire process stinks to high heaven. No different that the basketball guys who end up one & done and once they don't immediately succeed in the NBA ore go undrafted are out of ball, out of a living and have no education.
Sooner rather than later this kid is going to be saying "Would you like fries with that?"
UF dodged a bullet with this one. Find a kid that's talented but hungry for success and develop him.
Some people bring joy even they arrive, some bring joy when they leave...
It is often forgotten that coaches use the transfer portal to "encourage" problems to go find additional playing time elsewhere
Monken put on a clinic of how to destroy the 3-3-5 defensive scheme. You can bet that if TCU sticks with it next year they will have a much harder time of it in their own conference even with the reduced talent they regularly play against. Tuesday morning every DC in the Big12 was breaking down that tape.
DGD! Thanks for the hard work and memories! Much respect to you and best wishes in the NFL!
For someone who is too short (taller than Bryce Young) not enough arm strength or accuracy (according to pundits), he sure does WIN a lot of games. What else matters? He WINS! The Hall of Fames are filled with guys that were all the bad things Stetson is supposed to be. Give me a guy like Stetson with heart, determination and the guts to never give up any day over one of these so-called 5 stars and Heisman winners, who will be watching Monday night's game from their couch.
Don't disappoint the Conference- SEC needS a "W" from the tigers
My hope is the first time they play Vanderbilt Texas get blown out ;)
Congratulations Brock! DGD!!!
"He was rated as the worst coordinator in the NFL in 2017"...
To all the Chicken people -- You can do much better than this guy - Don't sit still for "the worst coordinator" Start making some noise, your program looked like it was getting started...
Traditions should be kept, HOWEVER.... the tradition of playing Suwanee went away when they left the SEC. Tech left the SEC willingly and has successfully turned their program into a laughingstock. Suwanee plays at Div 3 level... Should we include Suwanee in our regular scheduling? No.
@Ron -- Go troll someone else - it's all you seem capable of
Not a good look having to defend the hire at this level before the guy can even find his desk...
No offense meant - but is UF going to have enough players to play a bowl game? Transfer portal is lit up.
Take the money and retire -
The bugs can only improve, they have been about as consistently terrible as they could be. There is no real institutional support to actually build what needs to be built there and compete in modern college football consistently.
The question in this game is not whether or not USC can win, they can. The only question is which USC team shows up? The one that got drubbed by UF? Or the one the beat the stones out of Tenn.?
Don't let N.D. take home a win!
Other than as a "traditional rival" (that has not been relevant for years) GA Tech does nothing to help UGA's strength of schedule. Time to eject the bugs from an annual game. They are seldom competitive and are marginally a "power 5" team in name and conference association only. GA State, GA Southern and potentially Kennesaw would be better in-state "rivalry" games if it has to stay in state. Key will be gone in 3-4 years when they bring in another coach to "rebuild"...
LSU has everything to be proud of. Brian Kelly has brought you back to the Champ game in one year. Is there work and building to do? Yes, but be glad where you are instead of where you were. It takes time, Kirby has had 7 years. LSU is headed in the right direction.
^^^ THIS ^^^ I couldn't have said it better...
Absolutely great bulletin board material - Keep writing it - Get that defense angry...
Starting his job off at Auburn with an apology about what happened at Liberty is not a good look...
I get what he is saying and like manythings in this day and age people only read what they want...
One thing though he can't escape is that he and Clemson will be sitting at home, flipping burgers, cooking hot dogs, or ordering pizza watching other teams in the playoffs...
"will be serving as an associate head coach for the Tigers" - Best move that could have been made - You've got your next guy in place if needed.
3 years, 4 tops. Not due to his coaching or where he can take AU. His propensity to make bad decisions off the field is incredible.
Let's see... gave up 63 to SC --So in standard grading the Defense, at best gets a D-
What was that score again? 63-38???
Beware what you ask for SC - you got what you wished for. Stability in the coaching ranks is desperately needed for Beamer to build that program. You have a good start, keep your assistants in place a while. You should be glad where he has brought you considering where you were.
That total beat down and collapse by Tenn at the hands of SC is still stinking up the entire playoff pic. 'Bama's losses were NOWHERE near as bad as the domination they received by both UGA and SC.
Getting to the playoffs matters MUCH less than what you do once you get there.
