Tom Hart remains in the mix to possibly replace Chip Caray in the Atlanta Braves’ television booth after Caray left for the same job with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com reported that Hart “remains a top finalist” for the job, and added that it “sounds like” radio voice Ben Ingram will remain in his preferred role on the radio side.

Hart, who previously worked for FOX Sports South and SportsSouth as pre- and post-game host and on-field reporter for Atlanta Braves telecasts, has been a familiar voice on SEC Network broadcasts since 2017 on “SEC Saturday Night” with Jordan Rodgers and Cole Cubelic. Hart also served as a play-by-play commentator for ABC and ESPN’s coverage of the XFL in 2020, teaming up with Cubelic and analyst Joey Galloway, according to his ESPN bio.

Hart is also the lead play-by-play voice of regular season college baseball and SEC basketball, and is one of the main voices on ESPN’s coverage of the NCAA College World Series. Hart also calls select games and events for ESPN Radio, including MLB, NCAA football and NBA, and occasionally guest-hosts The Paul Finebaum Show and College Football Live.

He previously worked at the Big Ten Network, Fox Sports Radio and CBS College Sports.

Hart earlier this week congratulated Caray for the move and called him a true pro.

“Cards fans are going to absolutely love him!,” Hart wrote on social media.
