They're power rankings. An article of actual rankings where each team is listed by its conference record is kinda boring.
True, but we handled you last year so you could argue the Gators are overrated. Plus, in the future we'll make a meteoric rise to #1 in the country after falling to dead last.

The computers don't like our defense and punishes us greatly for it.
I've never been a huge fan of stats / metrics / algorithms determining everything, including how you should view a team. Eye test is much more important IMO and anyone who knows the sport should be able to watch a few games and get a feel for how good a team is, what they're strengths and weaknesses are, etc.
Nothing worse than getting in an argument with some loser who doesn't know the sport, never played the sport, and have them throw a bunch of stats in your face or use the transitive property argument. I didn't need a computer to tell me that Mizzou has a bunch of great shooters, likes to play fast and force turnovers, has a really deep bench, is below average at defense and can't rebound to save their life. I watched two games. First one gave me a hunch. Second one confirmed.

This got me thinking of how Jeremiah Tilmon was always called for the softest fouls. He developed a "bad" reputation his first year and from that point on they'd blow the whistle before he got within three feet of his man. Used to make me so mad. Not only for the team but for him in particular. Especially after he worked so hard in the offseasons to improve his game.

Come on man. To try and suggest that competitors at this level are ever scared of any challenge is ridiculous. They compete for a living. You don’t make it to D1 football if you’re scared.
If the accusations are true, it would still make sense. Bball team is much improved this year. Administration wants to give the new coach as much support as possible in big games. Playing a ranked UK team in bball is more important than any 6-6 bowl game where most the players opt out. Occam's razor.

You're right. We've never beaten UK in basketball last year on February 3rd by 5 points. Maybe someday...
