FWIW, I misread your post. Thought you were asking which were alum ties. You were wanting Adam to distinguish btwn the two. Hopefully didn’t come across as snarky!! ;)
Wendy’s (Wendy is an UF alum). Would have been better had Adam explained the connection for each one but wouldn’t be the first time SDS has relied on its readers to do their own research to explain an article.
Wendy (the daughter of Dave and face/name of Wendy’s) is a UF alum.
Don’t think I’ve met anyone on the fence about this place (you either love it or hate it) but the original Sonny’s BBQ is just north of Gainesville. On that note, I’ll take my Turkey Big Deal (dry toast) with fries and a 32 oz sweet tea, please and thank you.
They “fixed the glitch” and then moved Kelly’ LLC down to the basement office with a can of bug spray and a red Swingline stapler.
Not an expert but been in education long enough (sitting thru my fair share of educational law PDs) to know that distinction may not matter. There is a standard of care expected to a student that is greater than friend to friend. The fact remains that a school employee was driving during a crash that killed a student. That may be the angle being pursued.
That might be what I'm thinking of...regardless, other HOFs have an Option B in addition to main method. There is precedent! Doesn't take away from honor of those inducted but allows a "what about this guy who did this extremely rare thing?"...
Late to the game on this article, but noticed an obvi solution that (a) hasn't been mentioned yet and (b) has precedent in other HOFs. I think MLB has a "special consideration" induction process outside of the normal balloting process. Thus, those who did not get in on the normal method could be included through a "contributions to the game" category. I know not apples to oranges, but the NFF could establish a group that would look at unique, rare, and significant accomplishments to CFB that may merit inclusion. FWIW...
Two problems: 1. The Super Bowl doesn’t follow the model he wants it to be like as it rotates to different sites. 2. The people of Omaha actually care about college baseball and the event. You won’t get that same local passion at the Rose Bowl.
We are now simply cheering for various colors of laundry rather than players...
In fairness, a writer that relies on “drippy” and “swagged” probably doesn’t have the journalistic acumen (or desire) to fact check a statement like that.
Nothing worse than trying to raise mayhem and jump start a mattress fire with e-cigs cause no one has a carton of Marlboros and a Bic lighter anymore.
Sentence 1: University of South Florida, not University of Southern Florida Sentence 2: Kelly…probably wasn’t that question to start out his day. Some news sources bury the lede. SDS buries the editing.
That was prob more demoralizing than the safety anyway…
To be fair, prob a vocal minority are like that. All my UF friends and fam are patiently optimistic…
Agree…receivers were open (play calls work); zero (I repeat, zero) turnovers (AR didn’t complete a pass to a different jersey); we were a well-defended, tip drill TD and questionable DPI from a really different game. Poor take by OP.
Agree…going to my first WLOCP in prob 15 years. After moving out of FL, I miss this game the most. Would honestly rather watch a Gator loss here than a win in the Swamp. (And tomorrow will prob get my wish!!!)
Related (kinda), I’ve heard some UGA and UF fans throw out the idea of UGA going full black and UF going full orange since our game is also around Halloween. Could be an interesting look.
UT Praise coming forth: As a hubby to a UCF grad, I've watched my fair share of CJH offenses. One of the frustrating things was their inability to close out games due to the fact that their passing game was their running game (quick screens, etc). I saw so many loses due to dropped passes or incomplete passes that allowed the defense to get stops AND leave time on the field. The paragraph about CJH committing to the run to avoid that scenario demonstrates a maturing coach. Kudos to him and UT in their growth...
As a supporter of neither school, I don’t let tradition cloud my thoughts. What are UT/UA fans’ thoughts re: black cleats? I heard that is a hill some will die on. Personally, I thought UT looked sharp when they had the white/orange cleats rather than black. Will hang up and listen…
tThe atention ws casse remainder 5 major typos in a 4 paragraph (5 sentence) story. Strong.
Corch...would agree. Secure enough in my Gator fandom that I can say I appreciate Smart's coaching style. You can tell he is fully engaged from opening kickoff to final whistle. Kelly? Not so much.
Fav Uni Combos (Ranked): OBW WWW OOO OWW
The real question is what the OC of SC thinks of the move from QB to DB for DQ. Hoping to get that PDQ. TY.
Also could mean the explanation didn’t make the Copy-Paste selection process from the original source…
If there is a SEC logo on their jerseys when they play, then that school is very “SEC”…should be a 14-way tie for 1st.
“They” simply blew up dam without any thought of where the water was going to go downstream.
I know what he meant. It still was a cheap and lazy way to get there.
