frivolity

If you like fresh air... If you don't like traffic jams and rude people and the coldness that tends to permeate large metropolitan areas such as New York... If you don't like government regulators getting into your business... If you get annoyed at how the cell-phone companies are gouging you on their monthly rates and bi-annual contracts... Then you'll appreciate the lyrics to "Rocky Top."

Does the Gator store have any Mertzandise yet?
Is Joe Burrow a player that all SEC fans can root for (no matter who your team is)? I believe so!
This Rashada saga could have happened to just about any school.
The mantra from coaches, fans, and the media talk about playing a complete game for all four quarters. General Neyland, whose "maxims" are still repeated today by current players, said, in his 7th maxim: "Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes." It is a 60-minute game, and then it's over. The little extra sting of pride when the score changes from 52 to 59 to 66 or whatever will go away. On Senior Day in Knoxville, the back-ups kept playing until the final whistle. 60 minutes. I bet most of the people who have a problem with Tennessee's last score probably received participation trophies in their youth.
My guess is it comes down to who the home team is in each of those games.
So many "concerned" fans from other schools like to warn us about what will happen next season without Hooker. We will be fine.
The Burden of Proof is on Missouri.
Exactly. How did everyone project Tennessee's five-year future after a Jeremy Pruitt coached 3-7 fired-for-cause season?
Paging Professor Ch-Ch-Ch-CHAOS! How about OSU beating Michigan, and then losing the B1G Championship Game, plus a one-loss PAC champ, a one-loss ACC champ, and a 2-loss SEC champ (for instance). And an undefeated TCU. Will the committee base their rankings on "resume" or the "eye test"?
Well, are we using "Resume" or are we using "Eye Test" on the committee?
Hopefully Tennessee, as a one-loss non-SECCG participant, gets in over a 1-loss conference champion from the PAC or the ACC. But different committees in different years sometimes place a large value in winning the conference and/or participating in the conference championship game. We'll see. Since I'm not one to be caught off-guard, I've already a queen-sized mattress and sufficient lighter fluid.
I’d like to counter 94’s take. First, congrats to Georgia (and their crowd!) on a thorough victory. My counter is that Georgia only had 130 yds rushing for the entire game, and Georgia only had 31:00 time of possession for the game.
Tennessee is fine. In fact, our path the CFP actually got a little bit easier today.
A six-figure bet? Not as bad as some Kentucky fan on this site who wagered his left nut that Kentucky would beat Tennessee.
Besides, the NCAA themselves actually recognizes Tennessee's six (6) NCAA football championships.
blindly follow the media then, and their AP poll. Who decided that was THE POLL? why, the AP did, of course.
Never say never, but also never take it for granted.
This is, to me, some of the reason why we do the SEC-SEC-SEC!!! chant over big wins over non-conference opponents, as part of the overall post-game celebrations.
Not self-awarded -- awarded by some other major polling service not named the AP. AP is not the end-all be-all -- they were pretty biased against Southern football for a period of time. You know that from the 1942 AP poll, and probably some others. Example: Under General Neyland in 1939, Tennessee went undefeated, untied, and UNSCORED UPON. Tennessee did not win the AP title that year. (*Yes I know they lost their "bowl game" but bowl games didn't count in those days -- they were more like an exhibition game after the season... like the NFL All-Star game or East-West Shrine game or whatever.)
If it was that chaotic, then how come 40 or 50 Bama players didn't also do the same thing? You guys should be used to it -- I think every team rushes the field when Bama drops a game. And of course in other conferences, rushing the field is no big deal. Clemson rushes the field after EVERY home win. I think soon the SEC will adopt similar rules as other conferences on this.
I don't care too much for Tim Brando, but there actually is additional video with Burton swinging out at a variety of fans every few seconds for the duration of his 30 or 40 yard walk to the tunnel -- Burton had to step forward and swing, or reach behind him and swing. It doesn't look good -- looked like Burton initiated the contact on all of those. Receipts: w w w. outkick.com/jermaine-burton-extended-video-from-tennessee-alabama-postgame-is-back/
Didn't know that about Florida and Jimbo. Sounds like: Jimbo is to Florida as... Muschamp is to Tennessee!
P-man…. USC finished like 4-8 last year and the AP still ranked them pretty high in preseason. J/Saying
Urban Meyer is intriguing. I think he will try to coach again somewhere just to prove he's not the idiot-coach we saw with the Jacksonville Jaguars... Big ego!
Having fun watching this team & enjoying the ride! It's all gravy from here!
Maybe Chad Powers should walk-on.
