Hey SDS can we do something about this idiot and his comments?
I hope one day you mature enough to where you can look back and feel ashamed about this comment
Willybob: "The 1% pit you against your brother and laugh." Also Willybob: "my CATAMARAN doesnt get WIFI when i’m going between ISLANDS!!!!" ....wut?
Missouri's defensive front last season was formidable
"They’re arrogant and have big fat mouths" describes many SEC fanbases
Putting players on salary, which will additionally result in every single perk they receive being treated as taxable income, will result in rich schools pulling further away from schools with fewer resources. It will also result in MANY universities removing their entire athletic department and varsity sports. It will also be highly likely that it's unsustainable for even rich school if national interest in CFB decreases. The most seemingly compassionate approach does not guarantee that it will result in either (1) the best outcome or (2) a good outcome.
Personal injury firms are quite often ambulance chasing flunkies. They operate on dramatics, puffery, bombast, and aggression. I don't know enough about the particulars and facts of this case to have an opinion about any impending law suits, but I just hope Willock's family is receiving good advice from this firm and not being led by greedy ambulance chasers.
Unrestricted and unabashed paying of players is neither in the players' nor the sport's long term interest. The most seemingly compassionate approach does not at all guarantee the best outcome.
"With 3 missed extra points by Brett Maher" I could deliver the same results for less than they're paying him
Disappointing to hear, but I wish him the best where he lands.
Big 10 is 1-4 in the playoffs across the last three seasons. That's not very good.
Whoever starts at QB next year will have a solid group of receivers and TEs to throw to, but breaking in a new starter is always an uncertain proposition.
"Saban stood at the podium after Alabama’s meaningless bowl win over an equally meaningless opponent" I disagree with both assertions that it was a meaningless bowl game and a meaningless opponent. Call me an SEC homer, but the team who finished 2nd in the West just destroyed the Big 12 champ. There's plenty of meaning and significance in that.
New offensive schemes can take more than one season to really take hold and show progress. My bet is that Petrino is able to get a lot of offensive production out of the roster Jimbo has built. The question then, in my opinion, is can their egos, the roster, and the program at-large withstand the negativity that comes from losing games while waiting for the offensive transformation to bear fruit.
LSU will definitely be a contender next year in my opinion. Bama too. For the Tennessee fans offended the Vols weren't listed, I think it's fair to be in a wait-and-see mode for next season given the offensive talent that is leaving. CJH's system is dangerous... but it really requires the right talent in the right places to be so dangerous. The Vols should still be good, but will they be an actual contender? That's what's uncertain.
A number of you Vols fans sure are an interesting bunch
Saban, Spurrier, Meyer, and others famously found the NFL much different and more inhospitable than CFB. CKS also seems to fully embrace recruiting and the unique challenges it presents to college programs. You never know what the future holds, but my guess is there's a fairly low probability that Smart leaves for the NFL.
Great article, Neil. And I personally appreciate all of the very classy and gracious comments from the other SEC fanbases.
CKS has done a tremendous job getting players to buy into the program
Things in CFB are never as easy or linear as they appear. But UGA's schedule next season certainly appears favorable right now. My guess is that Auburn and Florida are tougher next year, Ole Miss and Tennessee will still be dangerous, and a few other teams will be ready to give UGA their best shot.
Saban isn't done winning national championships. My guess is he wins another 1-2 before he retires.
I certainly had times where I doubted Stetson. I was always proven wrong. SB has more than earned his spot on UGA's Mount Rushmore of all-time greats. Also, there are some vile losers in this comment section who think their sh*tty opinions about Stetson matter enough to be shared.
