Yes, but in fairness, Michael Penix had a lot to do with that.
Well...we don't actually know he didn't though. We just know he wasn't caught/arrested for it. I'm not assuming he did or didn't, but I am not going to minimize what he did do by assuming he didn't do something worse when he very well could have.
No, he made it pretty clear the morning after the title game his responsibilities to the program were over when he told them he was skipping the required media event.
Try player development, then you don't have to worry about injuries. I didn't see Georgia complaining about missing key players most of the season the last couple years. They embraced next man up, and beat Alabama with freshman playing key roles. Alabama could not do the same. That is the difference between winning and losing most top level games.
It's the law....prevent someone from freely moving of their own volition and it is either false imprisonment or kidnapping, both of which are felonies
He had bruises as well. What is above is not the entirety of what the police released. His injuries were not consistent with his story, so she was more believable.
The police also said elsewhere his injuries were more consistent with her story than his.
Yes, staff are available to players if they need rides (suspended license, drunk, etc.)
Nearly every accident is "at fault". That doesn't protect an insurance from paying. They chose to insure the policyholder. With that comes the risk they speed and injure someone. Insurance is absolutely on the hook. However, insurance is not where the big bucks are because there are limits to the insurance's liability based on the policyholder's plan. Anything settled above that liability falls to the policyholder themselves (maybe she had an umbrella plan-then they might go after her Umbrella policy)...but, absent that, or LeCroy being independently wealthy, where the money is resides in the UGA/State of Georgia bank account.
She was also a UGA staff member. More than likely they were getting a courtesy ride because they were not capable of driving and they didn't want to send a solitary female out to get two large inebriated lineman by herself. Not that they would have done anything, but that's not the position you put female staff or your players in.
No, that is actually false. Driver, Front Seat Passengers, and children under 18 in the backseat are required to wear seatbelts in Georgia. Willock was 20, Bowles is 26, so they were not legally required to wear one. At least look it up before responding...and talk to your representative about changing it.
Willock was in the back seat behind the driver. He was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. No, one of the backseat passengers did not survive.
Oh, he absolutely does. No player doesn't strive to be their best and be recognized, prove the doubters wrong.
Were other players were involved? Uhm, what does that reporter know....I haven't seen that at all anywhere.
gwhite may be delusionally obsessed with statistics, but nothing has ever made me believe he wasn't a decent, otherwise normal human being.
Or maybe both player's had suspended licenses, or could have been carpooling. There are literally hundreds of reasons UGA staff and UGA players could be riding together in a car.
The police have said alcohol appeared to not be a factor.
Golding leaving is positive, but unless he is replaced with someone who does a good job, it doesn't matter. Saban's last few DC have been questionable, so it is no guarantee the position improves, even with Golding gone.
There is a world of difference in 1st overall money and mid 1st money. If he comes back and puts his Peach Bowl mobility on tape next year, he is 1st overall material.
He could be the first pick in the draft if he comes back and shows the wheels from the Peach Bowl were not a fluke. He has reasons to come back.
I say two other players btw, because the report I saw initially mentioned two other UGA players were involved beside Willock, but they are not mentioned in the police report.
Except that is exactly where the University expects them to be if they need a ride. You don't know the circumstances that led them to be in her car. It could be as simple as they were at a party and didn't have a way home. How many times do we have to see UGA release statements about UGA athletes getting stopped for suspended license, DUI and including "it was a learning moment, they know we provide methods for them to get where they need to go" before you morons realize these schools are invested in these players more than 9-5 and for 3 hours on Saturday. The football programs are there for them 24-7-365 with rides, tutoring, whatever else they need within the rules (and I'm sure sometimes outside as well). Maybe, just maybe Willock and the two other players involved had done the right thing, done what the school has asked them to do to protect theirs and the schools image and name.
I mean, staying with the team is preparing for the draft.
Harrison was targeted 3 times after the 10 minute mark of the second quarter. Georgia took a 3 point lead after being down 14 in the second quarter with Harrison on the field. After scoring 28 in the first half, OSU only scored 10 points in the 3rd, a quarter they largely had Harrison for and where UGA's offense was imploding. The Harrison angle is lazy. Georgia won the Peach bowl because OSU could not maintain a consistent rushing game and it made them one dimensional. Georgia controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides. No play epitomized the pressure Stroud was under the entire night than the play Harrison got hurt on. If you don't think they dominated along the line of scrimmage, how do you square 4 sacks, one against All-American and previously perfect Paris Johnson by a true Freshmen? Go rewatch the game knowing the outcome and you'll have a different understanding of how the game played out. Stroud almost pulled a Cam Newton, but in the end, that was all OSU had was a game for the ages by their QB. The rest of the team was pedestrian.
Don't get enamored with USC...Lincoln Riley would still find a way to lose his bowl game in the playoffs.
It wasn't that bad, but only because it started raining and Georgia stopped playing after half against Tennessee.
There were not 10 teams that would not have lost to Alabama twice last year, so no.
