Texas A&M dipped into the transfer portal and added former UTEP wide receiver Tyrin Smith Sunday evening. The former UTEP receiver broke out for the Miners in 2022, hauling in 71 receptions for 1,039 yards and 7 touchdowns. Of course, this mark led the team.

Smith played at Cisco College before transferring to UTEP, playing the past 2 seasons with the Miners before entering the portal just under a week ago. The slot receiver will no doubt make an immediate impact upon arrival in College Station for an Aggies offense that struggled in 2022, to say the least.

Smith joins a pair of other transfers to Texas A&M, including cornerbacks Tony Grimes and Sam McCall. This comes after a mass exodus of Aggie players hitting the portal before the window closed last week.

Texas A&M lost 27 players, 24 scholarship, to the portal over the last few months.
