Um, no, omrebs. Well, we are both often picked to finish at the bottom of our respective divisions. But one minor difference is we usually finish at least mid-pack while Vandy usually does not disappoint the pre-season prognosticators. Oh, and we both have a pretty good baseball program. (Although that seems to be true of most of the SEC recently.)
Glad to hear Tulu is staying. The new offense could really take advantage of his ball skills.
If the next OC at MSU shifts away from a pure air raid offense it will be interesting to see how it impacts Will Rogers place on that top five list. A more dynamic run game might help Rogers but they won't help his stats. He has shown tremendous accuracy on short and intermediate routes and those should continue to be available. But I think he struggles with the long ball. Then again the air raid doesn't really put much emphasis on stretching the field vertically so maybe he gets more attempts over 20 yards and shows me something. One thing for sure. He won't make any headlines running the ball himself.
Clutch receiver and classy guy who also carried a 4.0 GPA while earning two degrees at MSU. (He's working on his third.)
* I loved the OFFENSIVE play calling BY SPURRIER on the final MSU drive.
I'm not going to go too hard on the MSU offense performance in the Outback...er...Reliasomethingorother bowl. Illinois has one of the best defenses in the country. I know they play in a conference with some pretty weak offenses but the eye test says they are up there with some of the better SEC defenses. I loved the play-calling on the final drive. So it sounds like these positions are opening up not because Zach wants to build his own coaching staff but more because those leaving were Leach guys.
Congratulations, Coach. Hope you listened to the wedding advice from the Pirate and can sell it to your bride-to-be. My parents eloped and they celebrated their 70th anniversary shortly before my dad passed away.
If you are old enough to have a daughter in college, you should know better. Riding another MSU fan because you disagree with him is not particularly classy.
He certainly would have had something really interesting to say about that ending. I sure will miss the old rascal pirate.
Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest, per CNN and other sources. I think CFB_Fan92 is on the right track. It was just a freak thing. Thoughts and prayers with Damar and his family today.
Agree 100%. I was thinking of the physical safety and the emotional well-being of the other players.
I get where YOUWORSHIP is coming from. Once the head coaches got together and the teams went to their locker rooms it was time to call the postponment.
It was jolting to see the way Hamlin collapsed after getting up. Watching the next 20 minutes was just brutal. Prayers for the young man and for his family.
That Illinois defense may have played a roll as well. Them boys is solid.
Some people try to make others feel small so they can feel big. Whatever floats your boat, Halz.
I don't think I've ever seen Arnett when he didn't look pi$$ed off. Love it.
Imagine having MSU minus the 3 1/2. Hope nobody tore up their winning ticket.
A very good defense vs a pretty good offense. And a solid defense vs an ok offense. Figured to be low scoring and it was. But that pretty good offense was just good enough. Excited by what I saw from Simeon Price, especially in that final drive. Guy showed me some wiggle. Really looking forward to next season as the ship of State navigates the stormy waters of the SEC West. Somewhere a pirate is smiling.
So with all this talk about "the good old days", what are you, bloodb1? 70? 75? It's a new day. Enjoy the game for what it is now, or spend your Saturdays watching old VCR tapes of Oklahoma vs. Nebraska.
No need to look for conspiracies. The committee wasn't going to put any of the other playoff teams ahead of an undefeated Georgia. TCU and OSU were not going to jump Michigan. And they weren't going to put up a repeat of "The Game" blow-out that ended the B1G Ten season. So that meant 1. Georgia, 2. Michigan, and the other two had to be 3. TCU and 4. OSU.
He got in trouble for running down a bowl host city. Doesn't matter that what he said is true. Political commentary is not in his job description and when it runs down the city of El Paso his employer can reasonably be expected to discipline him.
Oh, and what about the right of an employer to manage the performance of their employees in the execution of their job? I guess people only have rights when they conform to your politics. That's another sin of the unthinking knee-jerk extremists on both the right and the left.
Comments here are yet another massive overreaction. The suspension was perfectly reasonable and is hardly the attack on free speech, family values, mom, and apple pie that some of you think it is. The problem I have with extremists on the right AND on the left is that they see the world from a point of view that is both paranoid and filled with ill will.

The problem was NOT the Carolina defense. The problem was the Carolina offense. You can't blame a defense that scored twice. You CAN blame the offense that couldn't stay on the field in the second half. That is why the thin Gamecock defense was completely gassed in the fourth and why ND ran it down their throats. Time of possession tells the story: ND-36:39, SC 23:21, and it was more lopsided than that in the second half. I was looking forward to seeing Rattler play. I was pretty disappointed. Beamer's outburst was inexcusable and extremely costly. SC should have ended the first half with at least a field goal.
