Tulu Griffin, Mississippi State receiver, updates transfer portal plans
Lideatrick “Tulu” Griffin was a surprise entry into the NCAA transfer portal last week, especially since he had been recruiting for the Bulldogs prior to his announcement.
Well, it appears his flirtation with the portal was short lived and he’ll be back in Starkville this fall.
On Wednesday afternoon, Griffin took to Twitter to reveal he was withdrawing from the portal and returning to Mississippi State:
Thank You Coach Arnett, Micheal Tardy And My Bulldog Family!! IM BACK!?#HailState?
— Tulu? (@TuluuuuuG) January 18, 2023
In 2022, Griffin recorded 40 catches for 502 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also averaged 32.3 yards on kickoff returns and brought 1 all the way back for a touchdown.
We’ll see what role Griffin has in 2023, but getting the versatile receiver back is a big boost for the Bulldogs’ offense.
How do you pronounce his name and on what grounds?
@leeland
I am guessing. Something like “Luh-dee-trik”
Too nailed it
Glad to hear it. Not sure what happened there since he’s been heavy recruiting for State on twitter for a while.
Glad to see him back. I haven’t met him in person but I know his mom and they’re good people.
AWWW, YEHHH!!
Glad to hear Tulu is staying. The new offense could really take advantage of his ball skills.
He’s one of those rare ball players from time to time that specializes in one type of play and things can easily get good each and every time he gets his hands on the ball. Kickoff return is like punting-in one big way-it’s taken for granted but can completely change the course of a game.
This is great news. Hope whatever reason he was considering transferring was resolved.
Thanks to whoever ponied up the cash to match Lame’s cash.
^^This dude gets it^^
Great news!
Poor lil bro got all heartbroken over this one
